Without a doubt, the highest profile story in wrestling this week has centred around the shock walkout of Sasha Banks and Naomi from WWE ahead of this week’s Monday night RAW.
On WWE SmackDown, it was confirmed that the pair have now been suspended indefinitely and that there will now be a future tournament to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. The announcement of this can be viewed here on WWE’s official Twitter page.
In a fast developing situation, content relating to both superstars appears to be being removed. WrestleTalk have reported that both Naomi and Sasha Banks have been removed from the WWE Opening ‘Then, Now, Forever’ introduction video. The report also notes that their official merchandise has been removed from the WWE shop and that their official Facebook pages have been removed.
Attention has now turned to the pair’s contract situation with rumours that time could be soon running out on both stars existing deals. Wrestling Inc cites comments made by ex-WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide on The Ringer’s ‘The Masked Man Show with Kaz.’ According to the quoted comments, Famuyide reveals it is understood that the contracts of Banks and Naomi actually may expire within the next two months.
